Welcome to My Life!

So I have been dreaming of starting a blog ever since falling in love with the movie “Julie and Julia”.  I am sure that I am one of thousands of people who watched that movie and thought-  “I could do that”.  Of course, Julie had a really cool project to follow- making all of the recipes in Julia Child’s great masterpiece, Mastering the Art of French Cooking……….

That was quite an amazing feat. I don’t really have an amazing project to write about – just the project of trying to navigate my beautiful, crazy, messy, complicated and challenging life. I am five courses away from finishing my Master’s in Divinity degree. I have been working to complete this degree (on and off) for the last eight years. In addition, I teach full time, take care of my 81 year old mom who has dementia, volunteer in ministry at my church and try to be a loving wife, a caring friend and a responsible member of my community. Some days are hard. Some days are awesome. Some days are crazy. Through it all, I try to keep my focus on Jesus, who I am utterly and hopelessly in love with.   When things get too crazy and busy, I sometimes need to hide out and take a nap. I pray. I read the Scripture. I rely on my daily devotionals of Streams in the Desert and Jesus Calling. I have awesome friends and a few amazing mentors, who have walked this path of faith longer and more carefully than I have. I learn much from them. God has put amazing people in my life.

That’s it for today. I look forward to writing this blog and sharing some of what God has given me with you………

Glory to God, whose power, working in us can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine- that comes from The Book of Common Prayer- one of those tools that I use to help me along the way.

Thanks for joining me on the journey. May the grace of God be with us.

  1. Congratulations Christine! In hindsight you may be feeling that it wasn’t so bad making the leap to the blogosphere after all. Looking forward to reading more of God’s plan unfolding in this new season of your life!
