This week’s Advent theme is JOY. Yesterday, we lit the pink candle on the Advent wreath, the candle of JOY. Pastor John preached on “Dare to be Joyful”, and the challenges of having a joyful heart in the midst of personal and global tribulation. A powerful message. He stressed that this kind of joy is only possible with the help of Christ.

Pastor John started his sermon by reading a stream of consciousness list of about twenty things that bring him JOY. I thought that would be a joyful thing to do today. I will start with three of mine…..
-Babies
-Singing (especially about Jesus)
-Accomplishing a hard fought goal
